"CAE/CFD Revolution 2004 Spring" Seminar
(Admission Free)
- System integration and automation of expert know-how of CAE/CFD,
Speedup of large-scale model calculation -
Organizer: VINAS Co., Ltd.
Co-organizer: SGI Japan, Ltd.
Fluid Technology, Ltd.

Use of CAE/CFD technologies is becoming ever more common in design phase of industrial products than before. Therefore, more efficient use of these technologies in design phase, sharing of know-how between analysis engineers and product designers, and enhancement of technology to find out more about physical phenomena in and around the products are becoming the key issues. VINAS has been providing system integration solutions of pre/post processes of CAE/CFD and fast and robust matrix solver library "Super Matrix Solver" to contribute to integration and automation of simulation expertise as well as to increased speed in calculation of large scale numerical problems.

This one-day seminar features a keynote session entitled "Intelligent visualization of complex flow phenomena" by Associate Professor Masato Furukawa of Kyushu University, as well as a presentation from SGI Japan about CAE technologies in automobile industry and from Fluid Technology about their products and their use of CAE/CFD tools provided by VINAS. And moreover, we will present you with the latest information about coming upgrades of our line of CAE/CFD products that are scheduled this summer and later on.

By participating the seminar, you will be able to see pre- and post-processors tuned for the best performance in fluid, structural and electro-magnetic analyses, examples of system integration and automation of such tools, latest technologies of turbomachinery analysis and high-speed calculation, and much more! (NOTE: The keynote session is featured in Tokyo seminar only.)

Yasuhiko Fujikawa,
President, VINAS Co., Ltd.

Title CAE technology in automobile industry - now and future CFD solver development tool "FOAM C++ Library"
Speaker Masami Taniguchi
Senior Manager,
Digital Engineering Promotion, The Third Business Operation Division, SGI Japan, Ltd
Takashi Yoshino
Manager, Sales Division, Fluid Technology, Ltd.
Description Based on the current use of CAE technologies in the automobile industry, what’s needed and what’s expected in future CAE are discussed, and benefits of Knowledge Management are introduced. In this presentation, latest information about the CFD analysis software "FOAM" from Nabla Ltd. is introduced. FOAM is written in object-oriented languages such as C++ and Java and is based on a new concept of "software used for development of CFD analysis/solver applications." Integration of Gridgen and FieldView into CFD applications are also discussed.
