NASA Glenn Research Center におけるFieldView
eXtreme VRポストプロセッシングへの取り組み |
NASAでは大規模CFDデータの可視化用にVR環境としてFakespace
RAVEを所有しています。しかし、VR実施には複雑で面倒なセットアップが必要なため、既存ワークフローにVRビジュアリゼーションを組み込むことは困難とされてきました。そのため、CFD解析担当者からは、複雑なセットアップ不要で、かつ充分なポスト処理機能を有するポストプロセッサが求められていました。
この問題を解決したCFDポストプロセッサがFieldView eXtremeです。NASAではFieldView（スタンダード版）が広く普及しており、特にGlenn研究所ではCFDワークの生産性向上と効果的な流体解析の可視化を実現するため、FieldView
eXtremeが利用されています。FieldView eXtremeは解析担当者、プログラムマネージャ、外部のプロジェクトパートナーなど、VR
3次元空間によるCFDワークの生産性向上に加え、効果的なプレゼンテーション環境を提供します。
